Yes, we just returned from a 7N/8D tours around Sri Lanka and can’t praise enough Excellent Lanka Tours and Travels Sri Lanka, and the very professional services of Mr. Winston Fernando. As we were 7 adults and 1 infant, the concern was always about the little one. However, Winston saw that the 21-seater private bus for us had a dedicated driver, porter and he travelled with us too….which was fantastic!! All the travel was designed with minimum travel time and maximum comfort in mind.

The 4 star hotels that we stayed in Sigiriya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya & Bentota that were chosen by Excellent L T&T and ourselves were truly beautiful and all the rooms were always in a sequence with ease of check-in/check-out, breakfast & service in mind. Sightseeing included important culture, mountain & beach destinations in mind. The guides that were organised were very knowledgeable too. Any modifications during the course of the trip were happily agreed to by Winston and team. Ending on the note that if anyone is thinking of a trip to Sri Lanka with Excellent L T&T, just go for it and leave the rest to Winston!

Yes, my wife and I did 17 days tour in January, 2014 to Sri Lanka using “Excellent Lanka Tours and Travels” to arrange our trip. We worked out the things that we wanted to see and do and had a car and driver to travel through the cultural triangle as well as to Yala Park, Galle, and beach communities in the South.

We had an absolutely superb experience with this company. The accommodations were great and the pacing and activities of the trip were just right for us. Everything worked as scheduled and our driver, Anton, was very flexible and accommodating and a great companion as well. We were able to focus on what interested us (Buddhist sights, natural areas) and had very relaxing accommodations all along the way. This is a good value company and we were very pleased with our experience.

How we have enjoyed your company on our tour through Sri Lanka. We will never forget your either your prayers must have been with us in India too.

We arrived in Chennai and at the airport people from Save the family Plan were waiting for us. They brought us to the bed & breakfast place which we had arranged before had a good sleep and at breakfast the next this man walks in and asks us if we are Mr. & Mrs. Carl Gomes. We were amazed who is this man. Well he was the priest who was the contact point for Save the family plan in Chennai. He lived just down the street from us a God thing again Carl just went on the internet for a place to stay in Chennai and God arranged for us to stay so close to the Bishop’s house. Al through India it was like that. We cannot describe to you how our trip in India was guided by God. Everyplace we went to visit the families that we sponsor God had already been there with the places were we stayed and the people that were placed on our path cars safe travel we never got sick. We met some beautiful priests, nuns, bishops all humble people full of the spirit doing God’s work to make this world a better place. Save the Family has a network of people from all faith’s working with the poorest of the poor. But oh to see the light of hope in the faces of the women and children in some cases grandparents who have to look after the grandchildren it was so humbling for both Carl and myself. These people are material poor but so spiritual rich. Praise God for the opportunity that He gave us first in Sri Lanka meeting you and Carl’s family and seeing that beautiful country, also with the weather that He blessed us with.

We had a safe journey all way through and health wise we were fine. Now it’s nice to be home again with our families and church family. We only praise God for His goodness also keeping in mind that we cannot take anything for granted as we have seen in Sri Lanka and also in Japan. He has the master plan and we pray that the people of the world may come to know Him as the Saviour of this world.

Once again Winston thank so much for everything and give our love to your wife Nelum from us.

We used Excellent Lanka Tours and Travels in April 2014 for a two week holiday for 3 adults & 3 kids. The trip was rearranged from June 2013 when I had to postpone at short notice as a result of work commitments. Winston Fernando, who has been mentioned by many other posters, arranged everything exactly as we wanted it and kept calm and a sense of humor throughout, even when we had to change everything. We too had Winston accompany us in the trip along with the driver, Shanta, who was a very safe driver and never got in the slightest bit annoyed about the crazy driving that we encountered daily.

Like others, we were asked to wire transfer 50% up front – this gave me concern at the time, but everything went smoothly. Having now experienced how local operators work in emerging countries, it is easy to overlook that they don’t have the personal resources to fund he deposits etc if we “pay in arrears”. There is a degree of trust required to take that first step as a consumer and that’s where websites like TripAdvisor can play a big part. We want to support local operators wherever we go, and so rely on other people’s good experiences and their effort to take the time to post messages of support for local companies.

We just returned from a 23 day tour of Sri Lanka. My wife and I give our highest recommendations for Excellent Lanka Tours. They provided fantastic service and we had a wonderful time. We originally contacted Excellent Lanka Tours about our interest in visiting Sri Lanka and they responded quickly and politely. Based upon our interests they proposed an itenary. For example, we wanted to minimize visits to museums and temples/churches. Our interests tend more to seeing wildlife and visiting local markets and arts & crafts. We also wanted non smoking rooms with a king-sized bed. We wanted 3 or 4 star hotels and wanted to stay 3 days or so at a location to minimize packing and unpacking. Winston Fernando worked up a detailed proposal based upon these criteria. They are very flexible in working with your interests in mind. Once we finalized our itinerary we sent a deposit via wire transfer. This was needed because they had to have funds to make the hotel reservations. We paid the balance in cash upon arrival in Colombo. Our entire experience in working with Winston on the itinerary was easy and relaxed. He kept stressing that it was our vacation and he wanted to arrange everything to our satisfaction. Winston is one of the principals of the company. We can attest to the fact that he is a most honest person. AS luck would have it, he decided to accompany us on the entire trip as our driver. We had a fantastic time. We did absolutely everything on our itinerary plus more. We had priceless spur of the moment learning experiences. We stopped at a local community fair and had a great time there, mixing with the locals. We happened by a Christian wedding and stopped to see a Christian wedding Sri Lanka style. We took an unanticipated train trip and had fun travelling Sri Lanka style. Whenever the opportunity arose we stopped to experience the real Sri Lanka. Winston provided impeccable service. One hotel tried to put us in twin beds. We notified Winston and he got our room changed immediately. He was not about to have his clients short changed. Our trip was wonderful, thanks to the careful planning by Excellent Lanka Tours, and the dedicated service provided by Winston Fernando.

Just got back from Sri Lanka where we had booked our hotel accommodation and flight with Virgin Holidays. We used Excellent Lanka Tours for a 2 day excursion and have to say they lived up to their name and were truly excellent! There were 7 of us and we paid 50% deposit up front but wouldn’t have any problems sending the full amount now we have experienced their very profession service. If we were to visit Sri Lanka again I would definitely go to Winston first to get his prices for hotel and tours as he was cheaper than quotes given by our local travel agent in the UK for a 2 day tour.
